A popular Denver-based brand of marijuana-infused edibles was recalled by the Denver Department of Environmental Health on July 17 because of the “possible contamination from unsanitary equipment” and “use of equipment not intended for food manufacturing,” according to the department’s Public Health Inspections Division.

Some Colorado communities are talking about banning electronic smoking devices — e-cigs and vape pens alike — in public. The city of Lakewood passed such a ban on July 14 — with its city council voting unanimously for the ban.

I appreciate simplicity in most things, and Da Buddha Vaporizer is pretty simple. It’s basically a ceramic heating element encased in glass, controlled by an unmarked, guess-and-check temperature knob. A plastic tube with an herb-filled glass receptacle is attached to that heater, and the user breathes in through the tube to manually control the flow of air. To decrease the likelihood of burning the crap out of yourself, the heater is moderately surrounded by an aluminum case.
